Francis Ngannou, the Cameroonian and French professional boxer, has received lots of love from fellow athletes and fans after he shared the sad news about his son Kobe passing away. The recent tragedy pulled in comforting messages on social media ever since the fighter shared the death of his son on Monday.
Posting about his deep longing for his 15-month-old son Kobe, Ngannou referred to him as his “little boy, mate, and partner.” The video displayed his pained heart that can’t seem to get over losing Kobe and how Francis feels depressed after it.
“Too soon to leave, but yet he’s gone.” One of Francis’ messages stated, “Kobe, my companion, my little boy, was happy. Kobe was full of life and joy. Now, he’s laying without life. I shouted his name over and over, but he’s not responding.
I was my best self next to him, and now I have no clue who I am. Life is so unfair to hit us where it hurts the most. How do you deal with such a thing? How can you live with it? Please help me if you have an idea because I really don’t know what to do and how to deal with this.”
Anthony Joshua, Ngannou’s recent opponent, sent in his condolences about Kobe. Despite their rivalry in the ring, Joshua still supported his fellow sportsman. An act, that goes a long way to highlight sports’ ability to bring people together even in tough times. Conor McGregor, another fellow fighter, also said they felt sad for Ngannou and wished him strength.
Ngannou’s life story is inspiring. He grew up poor in Cameroon and had to work hard from a young age. Despite facing many challenges, he followed his dream of becoming a boxer. His success in UFC, and now, in the Professional Fighters League, shows how determined he is.
As Ngannou deals with this sad period, the showered support and kind words towards him and his family have, hopefully, strengthened him.
In these hard times, we wish strength to Francis Ngannou.
