The Mobile World Congress 2024 exhibition has begun and will be held in Barcelona from February 26-29. The giant technology companies have returned to showcase their latest technologies, as they do every year. The first announcements included new phones and other product categories that are new to the market, such as smart rings, in addition to many novel developments in software and chips. Charge-once-a-week phone
Avenir Telecom surprised the MWC 2024 audience with the Energizer Hard Case P28K phone in cooperation with leading battery manufacturer Energizer. The phone offers a giant 28,000 mAh battery that can withstand a full week of normal use without charging. The case features an armored body that is water and dust-proof. The phone will be released in October 2025 at a price starting at 249 Euros (approximately Rwf350,000)
Samsung’s smart ring
Samsung launched the Galaxy Ring smart ring. support health tracking features such as heart rate, sleep monitoring, and data synchronization with other Samsung devices, specifically the Galaxy Watch. Lenovo’s transparent laptop
Lenovo unveiled the world’s first laptop with a transparent screen, the Thinkbook Transparent. With its transparent, bezel-less 17.3-inch display and shiny, futuristic keyboard, it looks like something from the future. The screen has a relative transparency of 55%, and Lenovo was able to achieve this by using microLED panels with a resolution of 720p and providing it with a brightness of 1000 nits to display the content.
