This year of 2024, there are lots of exciting films for both younger and adults, from new movies with different types of stories to movies that got postponed from 2023, Hollywood plans to give fans a lot to enjoy with these new films.

Bob Marley: One love
Coming out on February 14, 2024, in the United States through Paramount Pictures, “Bob Marley: One Love” is a new American movie about the life of the famous reggae singer Bob Marley. The film, directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and written by Green, Terence Winter, Frank E. Flowers, and Zach Baylin, with Winter and Flowers helping with the story, tells the story of Bob Marley’s rise to fame and his life until he passed away in the early 1980s. The main actors are Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob Marley, Lashana Lynch as Rita Marley, and James Norton as Chris Blackwell.
Dune: Part 2
Dune is the sequel to the well-received 2021 film directed by Denis Villeneuve. It has a famous cast that includes Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgard, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, and Léa Seydoux. The release got delayed because of strikes by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and SAG-AFTRA, but it will be released on 1st March 2024.
Kung Fu Panda 4
In “Kung Fu Panda 4,” Po Ping goes on a new adventure to discover inner peace. Awkwafina joins the movie as a new character, and Viola Davis plays the role of a new enemy called The Chameleon. The film is directed by Mike Mitchell and is set to come out on March 8, 2024.
Rebel Moon: Part 2 – The Scargiver
Zack Snyder is directing this movie. The first part came out on Netflix on December 21, and the second part is set to be released on April 19. The movie is a big space adventure starring Sofia Boutella, and it takes viewers to a whole new universe created by Snyder. The story happens on a peaceful farming colony on the edge of the galaxy. They are in trouble because the Imperium’s armies, led by the mean Regent Balisarius, are trying to destroy them.
Deadpool 3
Get ready for a cool superhero movie! In Shawn Levy’s new film, Deadpool 3, we will see Ryan Reynolds’ character team up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine from X-Men. This is Deadpool’s first time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after having his own movies with Fox. Jennifer Garner is back as Elektra too! Don’t forget to mark your calendar because Deadpool 3 is coming to theaters on May 3, 2024.
IF
Coming out on May 17, 2024, John Krasinski is getting ready to show his new movie, an exciting, animated comedy called “IF.” With top-notch actors like Ryan Reynolds and Steve Carell leading the way, the film tells the story of a young girl who discovers she can see everyone’s imaginary friends. Directed and written by Krasinski himself, “IF” follows her magical adventure as she uses this special power to bring back forgotten imaginary friends to their kids.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
In the new movie called “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” which is the fifth part of the Mad Max series created by George Miller, we see the story of a young Furiosa. She goes on a dangerous adventure after getting separated from the Green Place of Many Mothers. Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth play the main characters in this film, set to come out on May 24. The movie explores a mysterious and intense world where Furiosa discovers her real identity.
Bad Boys 4: Ride or Die
Adil and Bilall are going to direct a new funny and action-packed movie in the Bad Boys series. This movie is the fourth one and follows Bad Boys for Life. Familiar faces like Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, and Paola Núñez will be back, and Tasha Smith will play Theresa Burnett. Some new actors, including Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, and Rhea Seehorn, are also joining. The film is set to come out in the United States on June 14, 2024, through Sony Pictures Releasing and Columbia Pictures.
Beetlejuice 2
Michael Keaton is coming back to play Beetlejuice again in a new movie. Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara will also be in it, just like before. Jenna Ortega and Justin Theroux are joining the cast. The movie will be out in theaters on September 6, 2024. It’s a sequel to the first Beetlejuice, where Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis played a couple stuck in their country home after they died.
Joker: Folie a Deux
The new Joker movie, “Folie a Deux,” is the follow-up to the 2019 film. Joaquin Phoenix is back as the Joker, and it’s coming out on October 4, 2024, five years after the first one. What’s different this time is that it’s a musical. Lady Gaga will play Harley Quinn, the Joker’s partner in crime.
Gladiator 2
Ridley Scott and Denzel Washington, who worked together on the 2007 film American Gangster, are teaming up again for a sequel to Gladiator. This time, they have chosen Paul Mescal from Aftersun as the main actor. The original Gladiator, released in 2000, starred Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, and Conie Nielsen and part 2 will be released November 22, 2024. Crowe played Maximus, a Roman general turned gladiator seeking revenge for the murder of his wife and son. The sequel, set years later, focuses on Lucius (played by Mescal), the son of Lucilla (Nielsen) and the nephew of Commodus (Phoenix).
Mufasa: The lion King
Oscar-winning director Barry Jenkins made “Mufasa: The Lion King,” a movie that comes before the 2019 live-action version of the famous animated film. This story explores how Mufasa became a respected ruler in his territory. The 2019 remake of “The Lion King” used advanced methods to create realistic animals and beautiful African landscapes in the movie, and it will be released December 20, 2024
The lord of the rings: The war of the Rohirim
Coming to theaters in the United States on December 13, 2024, “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” is an upcoming animated fantasy movie directed by Kenji Kamiyama. The story, written by Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou, is based on a tale from the extra information in J.R.R. Tolkien’s book, “The Lord of the Rings.” Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and New Line Cinema, the film stars Brian Cox as Helm Hammerhand, a famous King of Rohan, and is set 261 years before the events in “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” (2002). Miranda Otto also joins the cast, reprising her role as Éowyn from the live-action film trilogy. The movie’s development was announced in June 2021, with Kenji Kamiyama, consultant Philippa Boyens, and initial writers Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews on board. Animation had already started, taking inspiration from the live-action films, and the script was in progress by February 2022.
