February weather in Kigali is always acting up, or is it just me? Random droplets of rain when it is 29 degrees! Don’t let this ruin your weekend though. Dress up for it, put on a comfortable, covering but light outfit, carry an umbrella, and let’s go eat life. Here is the map:
Pure Live Music
In the continued spirit of Hero’s Day, the Hero’s Lounge brings live music dedicated to those who put their lives on the line for the country we enjoy today. On Friday 2nd, from 8 PM, The Pure Music Band will lead the experience. You are welcome to sing along, send in suggestions and shout out for your favorite song, as you sip on your refreshing drink.
If you are still in your dry January, there will be a 10 percent discount for those who consume 50k or higher.
Friday Cultural Evening
If you find Rwanda’s cultural songs and dance iconic and deeply entertaining like me, head to Hotel des Mille Collines on Friday for the Friday Cultural Evening from 7-10 PM. Enjoy traditional dances with the Inganzo Ngari troupe and local cuisine. Let us learn, appreciate, and celebrate Rwanda’s elegant cultural dance together
Throwback Friday
For people who don’t have a household curfew, let us meet at M&M Plaza for good music, food, and networking (read gossip). If you enjoy dancing, sampling new meals, and exploring, the Throwback Friday on Friday and Saturday is for you. Tania’s cuisine and DJ Warrior will be at your service from 7 PM to 2 AM. Free entrance.
Drink & Paint
You don’t have to be a good painter to paint, especially when there is wine. If you drink before you paint, the drink might lead the brush, and who knows, you could be the next hit designer. Lol
Let’s find out on Saturday, at Pilipili’s “Drink & Paint” from 7-9 PM. You could end up creating your own masterpiece. The entrance fee is Rwf19,000 including paint supplies and a drink.
Heart2Heart Conversations
Introverts, we have not forgotten about you. At Kuza Africa Inn, you will not have to go far from your comfort zone. It will be a “Heart to Heart” conversation, a safe space for deep conversations about hopes, fears, and dreams. On Saturday, grab your buddies, and go for a calm health-preservation morning, starting from 10-11 AM. The event is free.
Family Fun Day at Mount Kigali Park
Sunday is for family. Hot take: you don’t have to be a parent to take your family out. Bring your parents, siblings, and cousins and enjoy an outdoor picnic at Mount Kigali Park.
Bring cards, charcuterie, drinks, board games, and bikes for maximum experience. At your disposal, you will have horseback riding, zipline, and archery to try out.
It’s an ideal opportunity to relax and create lifelong memories with your family.
Grab your friends, family, and significant other, and have some fun! Kigali is full of excitement, and you are welcome to be part of it!
