After a hiatus that spanned nearly three years, Rwandan artiste and lyricist Niyo Bosco has bounced back in the music industry with a five-track extended play (EP) dubbed ‘New Chapter’.
The EP is Niyo’s biggest project ever since he ventured into the business of making music in 2019 when his first track ‘Ubigenza Ute’ went viral and earned him a contract with MIE record label.
Speaking to Sens Magazine, the ‘Urugi’ hitmaker said that the EP is a result of a new contract that he recently secured with one of the biggest record labels in the country, KIKAC music, which is also home to female star Bwiza.
“I have put much energy into the production of this EP and I’m sure the world will taste how special it is. To my fans, I’m back like I never left and this is just the beginning. We are going big this year!” Niyo noted.
The artiste, who has written some of the most popular songs in the country, also revealed that he is working on other big projects that might be released before the end of 2024.
Premiered Friday, February 16, ‘New Chapter’ was produced by some of the biggest music producers in the country including the likes of Prince Kiiiz, Santana, X on The Beat, and Loader.
Niyo has not been releasing music ever since he parted ways with Murindahabi’s MIE on October 28, 2022, for fraudulently taking advantage of his talent and not paying him 30 percent of revenue of his YouTube income, among other causes.
The artiste later joined the Sunday Entertainment label which he accused of repeating the same mistakes that had pushed him to leave MIE and join MetroAfro in 2023 he also left without producing any new project.
Sens Magazine understands that KIKAC Music is sponsoring Niyo to produce and distribute all of his projects including an album that might drop this year.
Niyo Bosco rose to fame after the release of his first track ‘Ubigenza Ute’ and later dropped hit songs like Piyapuresha, Ishyano, Seka, Urugi, and many others.
