Speaking on Radio Citizen in Kenya on Tuesday, Bruce Melody said 1:55 AM label was bringing Kenny Sol on board.
Kenny Muragira, the vice president of 1:55 AM did not confirm to SENS that the “Joli” hitmaker will join the label but said, “Kenny Sol has been a close friend and a brother to 1:55 AM family and he would be a great addition to the label.”
Close observers of the move say the label is interested in Kenny Sol because of his progressing music and growing fan base, which would be instrumental to the label’s growth and mark on the industry.
Kenny Sol is known for his hits including Kenny like ‘Haso’, ‘Say My Name’, ‘Ikinyafu’ with Bruce Melodie, and ‘One More Time’ with Harmonize.
Kenny Sol joins Bruce Melody, the ‘Katerina’ hitmaker who joined the label in 2022 after parting ways with Tanzanian record label, Cloud9 Entertainment. 1:55 AM is also home to renowned producer Element (Eleeh) and singer Ross Khana.
Kenny Sol’s fame began when he joined the Yemba Voice group composed with artists Bill Ruzima and Mozzy Yemba Boy, after graduating from Nyundo School of Music and Arts. The group was disbanded in 2019.
