Let’s dive into the wild world of romance gone wrong, where each story seems more unbelievable than the last.
The Masticator
We had been talking for a few days and he asked if I could go on a date with him, even though I knew it was a bit rushed, I wanted to explore more. He smelled nice, looked good, and everything was all good until he started eating like he didn’t have any manners. He couldn’t care less about his lips being filled with food, talking with food in his mouth and I couldn’t help but notice some of his saliva and food dropping over to my plate and I couldn’t hear no more.
The Yapper
He seemed nice but never stopped talking. After asking him if he wants to hear what I have to say, he grabs a pen and paper and jots notes. I finally ask what he’s doing and he says he’s writing down things he wants to tell me when it’s his turn to talk again.
The Critic
She criticized absolutely everything. The car I was driving, the clothes I was wearing, and the cologne I chose. We were supposed to go to dinner and then drinks. When an attendant came over to ask if we wanted anything, I ordered my snacks and asked if she wanted anything. “You mean you don’t know? What kind of date is this?” Halfway through our date, she mentioned I was bringing up the wrong conversation topics. Thankfully my brother called me out of the blue and I played it as work calling me in. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
The Yapper II
I went on a date with this guy I had been talking to for a while. I was very excited, and he was gentle and caring. He pulled my chair and opened the car door until we started diving into conversations to get to know each other. The boy couldn’t let me talk and had a different opinion about everything I said it’s like we were in court. He talked nonstop for a whole hour, all I did was give a little nod until we left and never texted him again.
The Busy Chap
He arrived 40 minutes late without an apology text. He turned up with his laptop and said he needed to do some work, and gave me some cash to get him a coffee and something I wanted. I was like “Okay sure” and stood in the queue watching him as he put on his headphones and opened his laptop. I came back with the drinks and he said he just needed to finish this and took a call. I sat there for another 40 minutes with zero conversation and him typing/chatting away. This was a Saturday by the way and he scheduled the time.
After he finished he said let’s go to a bar and get a proper drink. We had a chat and I tried to get to know him but he was being an arse. He ordered the drinks and then started having a go at me for not offering to pay and went on a rant about double standards.
The Dating to Marriage Red Flag
As we met up and started walking towards the cafe, he said “Before we start you should know that my family’s very wealthy, and you’ll be taken care of. I’d like to get married right after graduation so don’t worry about going to college or getting a job because you’ll be at home”.
I’ve never seen such a huge pile of red flags since then, left before even going inside the place.
The Anti-Vax
He was anti-vax like ‘Bill Gates is putting microchips in the vaccine’ level of crazy. I didn’t even finish my drink. After that, I started asking people if they were vaccinated before I agreed to meet them in person.
The Double Standard Gyal
She spoke loudly all through the movie in the theater yet hushed anyone who made the tiniest of sounds.
The Famous Guy
We were at a club and he kept running into attractive women he knew but had not seen in a while. I overheard him lamenting to a friend, “I never see any of these ladies until I’m here with a date, then I can’t do anything! Why do I have to have a date here tonight?” I had him take me home so he could “Go back and enjoy all the women he never runs into.”
The Married Guy
I found out he was married. Listen, if polyamory or open relationships work for you, that’s great. However, lay that out right away when you’re talking to someone. Don’t wait until you’re on a date to be like “By the way, I’m married.”
Of course, the guy just said he was polyamorous, I don’t know if he was or if he was trying to cheat on his wife.
