Rwanda’s music star Bruce Melodie will once again break the record as the first Rwandan artiste to perform at the only Afrobeats event in Scandinavia, ‘One Love Africa Music Festival’, scheduled to take place in Gothenburg, Sweden.
This time around, the ‘Katerina’ hitmaker will join some of Africa’s best Afrobeats stars including the likes of Ruger and Skales among others, at the festival that kicks off July 5, and runs until July 7.
“We are very excited to present to you the pride of Rwanda, Bruce Melodie performing live at One Love Africa Music Festival 5-6 July in Gothenburg,” organizers of the event confirmed in an Instagram post.
The development comes at a time the Rwandan musician is enjoying international exposure sparked by the success of his “Funga Macho” remix which features Reggae icon Shaggy that continues to top global streaming platforms including Billboard.
Speaking to SENS, Melodie’s management said that it’s a blessing to have been invited to such a big festival that celebrates the richness of African culture, especially music.
“Melodie has been touring the world, from city to city in the US, and performing at One Love Africa Music Festival is a good opportunity to expand to Europe and earn new fans and consumers on the continent. We are ready to show Europe what we got,” said a member of 1:55AM, Melodie’s management line.
Miss JobBizz from Gambia, Izzyno from Sierra Leone, and Innoss’B will also perform at the festival dedicated to presenting world-class celebration of African music and culture.
