The 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, taped a week ago, aired on October 15, with Fat Joe returning as host for the third consecutive year. The event, set against the backdrop of Drai’s Nightclub in Las Vegas, brought together a galaxy of hip-hop stars for an unforgettable night.
In one of the evening’s most anticipated moments, Travis Scott received the prestigious I Am Hip Hop Award. The Houston native, visibly moved, reflected on his journey: “I come from this generation where they thought we didn’t belong in hip-hop, and every day I pushed to evolve the sound. Nobody understood what I was trying to do when I started as a producer. But I always had this vision that still drives me to take things further.”
Kendrick Lamar continued his remarkable run this year, securing eight wins from his 11 nominations, including Artist of the Year. Meanwhile, despite leading with 12 nominations, Megan Thee Stallion walked away empty-handed.
Amid the high-stakes tables of Las Vegas, the night pulsed with performances from 2 Chainz, 310babii, Big Boogie, GloRilla, Bossman Dlow, E-40, Juicy J, and many more.
Fans were treated to a nostalgic moment when Soulja Boy and Roscoe Dash reunited for “All the Way Turnt Up,” and Miami’s own Trina and Yung Miami brought their signature energy to the stage.
This marks only the fourth time the BET Hip Hop Awards have ventured outside of Atlanta since 2006. Below are SENS Magazine’s top-ranked performances from the night.
Flau’jae Johnson

LSU basketball star Flau’jae Johnson took the Nissan Amplified Stage by storm, proving that her talents extend far beyond the court.
Though unable to attend in person due to her collegiate commitments, Flau’jae fulfilled a childhood dream by delivering a pre-recorded performance for the awards. Filmed at Louisiana State University, she delivered powerful renditions of “Legendary Flows” and “Came Out A Beast,” showcasing her lyrical prowess.
Bossman Dlow

Fat Joe set the tone when he introduced Bossman Dlow with the line, “Yesterday’s price ain’t today’s price.” The Florida newcomer, one of rap’s breakout stars this year, lived up to the hype as he hit the stage—quite literally with his pockets full of cash, in line with Joe’s declaration.
Dlow kicked off his performance with the high-energy banger “Shake Dat Ass,” donning a sleek checkered coat. The crowd’s excitement reached new heights when he transitioned into his motivational anthem “Get In With Me,” securing his spot as one of the year’s most promising new voices in hip-hop.
Big Boogie & GloRilla

Big Boogie brought his signature Memphis grit to the stage, but beneath the fierce exterior, the CMG rapper was all about keeping the crowd in party mode. Riding the wave of his hit “BOP!”—a club staple across the nation—Boogie took over Drai’s Nightclub with infectious energy, even adding a humorous touch with some playful hip thrusts while delivering his bold verses.
Fellow Memphis star GloRilla made a striking entrance, draped in chains and leather, serving gothic gladiator vibes. With her fierce presence and relentless work ethic, she cemented her spot among the elite of female rap in 2024.
Soulja Boy & Roscoe Dash

Seventeen years later, Soulja Boy still knows how to get the crowd moving. “Big Draco” turned up the heat with his iconic chart-topping hit “Crank Dat (Soulja Boy),” as BET paid homage to the internet pioneer and millennial rap legend.
Fresh off his nationwide tour, Soulja made a stop in Vegas to revisit another fan favorite, “All the Way Turnt Up.” The energy escalated when Roscoe Dash made a rare appearance, joining the stage with bottle girls in tow, making his entrance feel more like a wrestler’s dramatic walk-in than a typical feature.
2 Chainz

True to his Drench God persona, 2 Chainz made a statement with his bold fashion choices, stepping onto the stage in a silver reflective jacket with a fur-lined hood that mirrored the shimmering disco balls overhead.
Tity Boi proved, once again, that his command of the club scene is as strong as ever, ensuring his place in the spotlight for years to come. Elevating the energy, he brought out a pair of strippers who seamlessly worked the poles while he delivered a high-octane medley of his biggest hits, including “Birthday Song,” “Rich As F–k,” “I Love Dem Strippers,” “Watch Out,” and “I’m Different.”
