The Basketball Africa League (BAL) Nile Conference <\/strong>kicked off in spectacular fashion at BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, with Al Ahli Tripoli from Libya facing off against Made by Basketball (MBB) South Africa on 17th May 2025. The game was a thrilling showcase of talent, determination, and the growing influence of basketball across Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the opening tip-off, Al Ahli Tripoli wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring three points within the first seconds. However, MBB South Africa quickly responded, ensuring the game remained competitive. The first quarter ended with Al Ahli Tripoli leading 12-9, setting the stage for an intense battle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the second quarter unfolded, Al Ahli Tripoli extended their lead, capitalizing on fast breaks and sharp shooting. By halftime, they had surged ahead to 39-26, leaving the crowd buzzing with excitement. The atmosphere was electric, with cheerleaders in green, fan competitions, and a Rwandan choir performance adding to the spectacle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded as one of Libya\u2019s most successful basketball teams, Al Ahli Tripoli made their BAL debut in the 2025 season. They dominated the Road to BAL, winning all seven games in the Elite 16 round. Under the guidance of Lebanese coach Fouad Abou Chacra, the team has established itself as a formidable force in African basketball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
