Kigali, 27, March, 2025<\/strong>-Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) would like to inform the general public that pursuant to the Government of Rwanda’s decision to of 17th March 2025 to sever diplomatic relations with the kingdom of Belgium, it has prohibited all international and national non-government organizations (NGOs), Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs) and Common-Benefit Foundations registered and operating in Rwanda to have any kind of cooperation with the Government of Belgium and its affiliated entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prohibition of Cooperation and Partnerships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Effective immediately, all collaboration, partnerships and engagements with the Government of Belgium and its affiliated institutions, non-governmental cooperation actors, agencies and programs are prohibited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any ongoing projects or agreements involving these entities and other similarly affiliated entities must be terminated immediately and reported accordingly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prohibition of Financial Transactions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No funds, grants, donations, or financial contributions shall be received from or disbursed to the Government of Belgium, its institutions, affiliated agencies, or programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This restriction includes, but is not limited to budget support, project funding, technical assistance grants, and payments made through third-party intermediaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any attempts to circumvent these financial restrictions, including indirect transactions through subsidiaries or partner organizations, will be subject to strict penalties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enforcement and Sanctions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Non-compliance may result in suspension of registration and\/or revocation of legal personality, in accordance with the applicable laws governing NGOs, Faith-Based Organizations and foundations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional Legal and administrative measures may be pursued for entities found to be in violation of this directive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
