The fashion world is as fickle as any other industry. Trends come and go, often dictated by larger shifts in public opinion, and right now, the \u2018old money\u2019 fashion look is in: think monochrome dull-colored hues, oversized tailored pants\/ shorts, white tees, and dress shirts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The OG fashionistas might call it the go-to look for the boring and lazy, but honestly, that\u2019s exactly why I love it. It\u2019s low effort but looks like I put a ton of effort into it. What more could I wish for? I\u2019m not about to spend time trying to look runway-ready every day. Life\u2019s hard enough as it is. But this summer, we\u2019re switching things up. It\u2019s time to ditch the grays, browns, and blacks for verdant shades of green, pink, yellow, red, and watery blues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Embracing summer means adding some color to your wardrobe. There\u2019ll be plenty of time to be a basic girlie later. Right now, we\u2019re thirst trapping in sensual shades of red, rocking sunglasses and looking like we belong in Greenwich, twirling in bright sundresses on the beach, and standing out in dramatic swimsuits. Okay, these are actually cute! I\u2019ll admit, though, when they first came into style, they reminded me of fake flowers\u2014definitely not my style. But I started singing a different tune when I came across this gorgeous red rosette top on Pinterest (I know you know the one), and now I\u2019m obsessed. They\u2019re honestly so pretty!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE BLUE & WHITE STRIPED PAJAMA SHORTS\/PANTS<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If looking like you just rolled out of bed is your vibe, you\u2019re right on trend. This summer, boxers and linen pants (yes, those blue and white striped ones) are just as acceptable for going out as they are for sleeping in. Initially, I was a bit skeptical, but since they\u2019re not really my thing, I decided to buy them for travel. At least, that\u2019s what I\u2019m telling myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

APPARENTLY, CAPRIS ARE COOL AGAIN??<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you haven\u2019t noticed already, capris are a thing right now. I get that Y2K fashion is having its moment, but can we please draw the line somewhere? Capris ought to go back to where they belong: the trash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FRINGE IS BACK<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s something about the sway and swoosh of a fringe dress that screams summer vibes. It\u2019s carefree in all the right ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CROCHET DETAILS<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crochet is a summer essential. If it\u2019s not already part of your wardrobe, I highly recommend checking out Yarned Crochet on Instagram. With summer in full swing, you\u2019ll want a few crochet pieces in your wardrobe. Personally, I preen a little wearing their pieces because I do feel pretty epic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ASYMMETRICAL STUFF<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This trend isn\u2019t exactly new, is it? Asymmetrical pieces seemed to pop up around the same time as the BBL fashion craze on fast fashion sites. While I\u2019m not a fan of the latter, I do agree that adding a one-shoulder top or dress to your wardrobe is a surefire way to make your outfit more interesting without much effort. Just be careful\u2014there\u2019s a fine line between trendy and looking a bit cheap, so proceed with caution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PUDDLE PANTS<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m all for those floor-sweeping hemlines on oversized pants; they create such a bold, dramatic effect. But if you\u2019re rocking gathers at the bottom, maybe it\u2019s time to rethink your outfit choices. You don\u2019t want to risk looking like a struggling rapper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BUBBLE HEM DRESS\/ SKIRT<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besties, I had a hard time figuring out the name of this trend. I searched for \u201cballooned shaped dress,\u201d \u201cbulky hemmed dress,\u201d and even \u201cbud hem dress.\u201d That\u2019s how I ended up calling it a bubble hem dress. Just for that reason, I\u2019m not a fan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MINI SKIRTS<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A black or denim mini skirt is a wardrobe staple. The thrill I feel whenever I wear one is pure adrenaline. Need I say more? It\u2019s a classic for a reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHEER WHITES<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheer fabrics are making a comeback this season, especially in angelic whites. If you\u2019re into the dainty, clean-girl aesthetic, a diaphanous white dress is absolutely perfect for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE WHITE FRILLY MAXI SKIRT<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This looked super cute, and I finally got one after obsessing over it for ages. Now I\u2019m realizing I might not get much wear out of it after summer, but I\u2019m going to take advantage of it while I can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basically, get yourself a vest. It\u2019s a minimalistic look that gives off the vibe that you\u2019re headed somewhere better later. It screams happy hour attire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
