Believers affiliated with the Vatican City of Rome were, this week, blessed with a \u2018sigh of relief\u2019 after their sovereign leader clarified his stand on same-sex marriages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pope Francis stressed his take on queer marriages during an interview with the popular CBS News TV show \u201860 Minutes\u2019, stating that \u201cthe blessing is for everyone,\u201d contrary to what he allegedly stated last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat I allowed was not to bless the union. That cannot be done because that is not the sacrament,\u201d he told Norah O\u2019Donnell, adding that he could never do so because the Lord made it that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As for the \u2018blessing\u2019, the Pope stressed that it is everyone’s right to be blessed, albeit when it comes to same-sex couples, it is against the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut to bless each person, yes. The blessing is for everyone. To bless a homosexual type of union, however, goes against the law of the church,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although the interview was conducted two weeks ago, it only went viral this week after a one-minute and three-second clip on the topic was posted on the social media platform TikTok by the same channel, garnering a ton of appraisals for the Pope\u2019s clarification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat makes more sense, and it is true. The blessing is for everyone, the sins you carry will be judged one day, not by man, but by God,\u201d read the topmost comment on the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the same interview, Pope Francis urged warring countries to stand for peace other than war. The \u2018man of God\u2019 remarked in response to the host\u2019s question regarding Vladamir Putin and the ongoing war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPlease, warring countries, all of them, stop the war. You must find a way of negotiating for peace, strive for peace. Negotiating for peace is always better than war,\u201d he echoed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
