<\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\nAmahoro National Stadium Rwanda\u2019s biggest stadium is almost done getting a makeover and should be finished by June 2024. The upgrade cost more than Rwf160 billion. It will have a roof and can hold up to 45,000 people, a rise from 25,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The stadium will be ready for events like the Veterans Clubs World Championship from 2024 to 2026. Plus, it might host the next elected president’s swearing-in ceremony this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zaria Courts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Community, Hospitality, Sports, and Culture: Zaria Court is on track to be a gathering place for social and cultural events. It attracts sports fans, influential people, and Africa\u2019s growing middle class. It\u2019s where athletes and artists come together and where fans meet to celebrate their passions. Proudly African and impact driven, Masai Ujiri started Zaria Court to make a positive impact and build something that lasts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In short, Zaria Court is a symbol of hope, creativity, and working together\u2014a place where Africa\u2019s sports and entertainment scenes come together, inspiring future generations. There will be an 80-room cozy hotel, restaurants, a cool rooftop hangout, a gym, spaces for relaxation and work, and even a podcast studio. The immense space in the middle will serve for sports, parties, markets, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There will also be a shopping area that will transform based on what people want and need. Old shipping containers will be turned into shops and places to start businesses. It\u2019s a way to make shopping eco-friendly and to help new businesses get off the ground, especially those run by women and young locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n New Bugesera International Airport<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n About 23 kilometers (about 14.29 mi) southeast of Kigali City, close to Bugesera District, the New Bugesera International Airport (NBIA) will be luxurious and fancy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Built by Mota-Engil Africa, the airport will handle about 1.7 million passengers (about twice the population of Delaware) each year. It\u2019ll have a long runway for big planes. There will be a swanky terminal building and a VIP one for official\/presidential use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They\u2019re building offices for important folks and cargo-handling places. And get this: it\u2019s made to grow even more in the future! About 375 million euros is being invested in the first part of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The government wants to make Kigali a hot spot for tourists and businesses, and this airport is part of the plan. It\u2019s also going to be a hub for Rwanda Air. And wait, there\u2019s more! They\u2019re also making an expressway that\u2019ll connect the airport to Kigali. It\u2019ll be about 14 kilometers (about 8.7 mi) long and intersect with a national road. The Green City of Kigali (GCK)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Green City Kigali (GCK) initiative, led by the Government of Rwanda with funding from the German Cooperation through KfW Bank (Kreditanstalt f\u00fcr Wiederaufbau) translates to the \u201cCredit Institute for Reconstruction,\u201d aims to tackle environmental and urban issues through innovative approaches to green urbanization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It focuses on creating a model community on Kinyinya Hill in Gasabo, Kigali\u2019s district. This community will offer affordable housing in sustainable, climate-resilient urban areas, setting new standards for Rwanda and beyond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The project covers 600 hectares and plans to build around 30,000 housing units, benefiting an estimated 150,000 people and potentially creating 16,000 jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n GCK integrates green building, renewable energy, recycling, and inclusive living, to serve as a blueprint for other African cities. As Africa\u2019s first green city, it addresses the continent\u2019s rapid urbanization while striving for sustainability and inclusivity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Rwanda\u2019s commitment to global sustainability goals is evident in this initiative, which aims to create a vibrant, equitable, and environmentally friendly urban space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Umuyenzi City Center<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Umuyenzi City Center is a G+11 basement 3 with 15 levels, located in Kiyovu, opposite I&M Bank. It will be a mixed-use building, residential, commercial, and office. The last six levels of this building are going to be apartments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In general, to attract people, it will have a gym and a swimming pool. It will have 45 meters starting from the ground. To increase connectivity, a pedestrian path will be installed with a car-free zone passing through the building. This will add to the vibrancy of the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kibagabaga Hospital<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Kibagabaga Hospital is now under the management of Integrative Healthcare Rwanda (IHCR). The hospital aims to become a Level II teaching hospital and a regional medical tourism center. It currently serves over 879,504 people in the Gasabo district and beyond, with 225 beds and an average of 5,700 patients, per month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The hospital provides various services, including pediatric care, surgery, internal medicine, mental health, stomatology, physiotherapy, medical imaging, cardiology, and mortuary services. To enhance its services, new facilities, such as an emergency unit and ophthalmology services, will be added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The hospital\u2019s vision is to increase access to care for its population and to become a beacon of health, healing, and hope for the people of Rwanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Norrsken Kigali House, Phase 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Norrsken Kigali House Phase 3 is a fancy new office building and start-up hub in Kigali. It will change how the city looks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The building will have offices for big companies and new businesses. The new building will have four floors and cover 3,820 square meters. It will have a great view of the city all around. It\u2019s being designed and built by Rwandan companies called Atelier and HYGEBAT. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Inzovu Mall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Inzovu Mall will be a cosmic shopping center. This center, currently being built by a company from France called Groupe Duval, will cover an area of 40,000 square meters. It\u2019s expected to cost around US$68 million. The mall will be located near Gishushu, where the Ministry of Justice used to be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Construction started in August and should be finished by September 2025. Inzovu Mall aims to make visiting Rwanda more fun for tourists. It will offer lots of different things to do and services for people.
