This weekend brought a mix of celebrations, diplomatic engagements, and musical vibes in Rwanda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, Muyango Uwase Claudine, crowned Miss Rwanda Photogenic 2019, and Kimenyi Yves, the goalkeeper of AS Kigali, tied the knot at the Romantic Garden in Gisozi. The event was graced by Rwandan celebrities, making it a joyous celebration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan arrived in Rwanda for a three-day working visit. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. Talks focused on cooperation, including agreements such as visa waivers and the potential opening of Rwanda\u2019s diplomatic mission in Jordan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before Rwanda’s planned 2023 opening of a diplomatic station in Jordan, agreements between the two countries have established closer connections in the past, including the lifting of visa requirements for both populations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Excellency Paul Kagame’s most recent visit to Jordan took place in March 2022, when King Abdullah II received him for a bilateral meeting to examine ways to strengthen current defense and security cooperation, particularly in the field of exchanging information and expertise to combat terrorism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kigali, President Paul Kagame and General Mohamed Hamdan “Hemedti” Dagalo, the commander of Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), held a diplomatic meeting. This meeting is a part of his extended tour to the East African Community (EAC) to find answers to Sudan’s internal problems, especially in light of the ongoing disputes with the military. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rwandan artist Nirere Shanel made waves with her latest release, the ‘Uzaze EP.’ The six-song extended play dropped on Friday, January 5, features a collaboration with Rwandan rapper Ish Kevin on the track ‘Ndeka.’ Shanel encourages listeners to appreciate the nuanced meanings in each lyrical expression, especially on the track “Ndabaza Sindega” (I am not accusing, I am just asking). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
