Botany has never been my thing but there are erect perennial plants with leafy stems, scaly bulbs, usually narrow leaves, and solitary or clustered flowers that got me numb. Those flowerets have varied meanings throughout many cultures, and are different-colored with their own symbolism as well. The name lily comes from the Latin word for this type of flower, \u201clilium.” The flowers represent purity, innocence and rebirth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me tell you something, they still represent purity <\/strong>and abundance<\/strong> in Greece, where brides wear crowns made of lilies and wheat. Lily flower meanings include beauty<\/strong>, purity, fertility<\/strong>, transformation, rebirth<\/strong>, and devotion<\/strong>. The beauty of this flower has inspired the work of writers and artists for centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 White Lilies symbolize purity, innocence, and grace<\/strong>. Yellow Lilies symbolize joy, good health, and gratitude. Light Pink Lilies symbolize femininity, elegance, and generosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their toxic side that you probably don\u2019t know is the fact that Lilies in the \u201ctrue lily\u201d and \u201cdaylily\u201d families are very dangerous for cats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entire lily plant is toxic: the stem, leaves, flowers, pollen, and even the water in a vase. Eating just a small amount of a leaf or flower petal, licking a few pollen grains off its fur while grooming, or drinking the water from the vase can cause your cat to develop fatal kidney failure in less than 3 days. So watch out if you are an ailurophile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other than that Lilies are one of the most popular flowers in the horticulture trade tasteful nectar, they can even have freckles and they are prized for their showy, often fragrant flowers, and ease of cultivation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
