Those flowerets have varied meanings throughout many cultures, and are different-colored with their own symbolism as well. The name lily comes from the Latin word for this type of flower, \u201clilium.&#8221; The flowers represent&nbsp;purity, innocence and rebirth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let me tell you something, they still represent <strong>purity <\/strong>and <strong>abundance<\/strong> in Greece, where brides wear crowns made of lilies and wheat. Lily flower meanings include <strong>beauty<\/strong>, purity, <strong>fertility<\/strong>, transformation, <strong>rebirth<\/strong>, and <strong>devotion<\/strong>.&nbsp;The beauty of this flower has inspired the work of writers and artists for centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/sensmagazine.com\/rw\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/pexels-glenn-saunders-17352097-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2113\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sensmagazine.com\/rw\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/pexels-glenn-saunders-17352097-1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/sensmagazine.com\/rw\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/pexels-glenn-saunders-17352097-1-150x225.jpg 150w, https:\/\/sensmagazine.com\/rw\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/pexels-glenn-saunders-17352097-1-450x675.jpg 450w, https:\/\/sensmagazine.com\/rw\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/pexels-glenn-saunders-17352097-1-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/sensmagazine.com\/rw\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/pexels-glenn-saunders-17352097-1-400x600.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;White Lilies symbolize purity, innocence, and <strong>grace<\/strong>.&nbsp;Yellow Lilies symbolize joy, good health, and gratitude.&nbsp;Light Pink Lilies symbolize femininity, elegance, and generosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their toxic side that you probably don\u2019t know is the fact that Lilies in the \u201ctrue lily\u201d and \u201cdaylily\u201d families are very dangerous for cats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The entire lily plant is toxic: the stem, leaves, flowers, pollen, and even the water in a vase. Eating just a small amount of a leaf or flower petal, licking a few pollen grains off its fur while grooming, or drinking the water from the vase can cause your cat to develop fatal kidney failure in less than 3 days.&nbsp;So watch out if you are an ailurophile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other than that Lilies&nbsp;are one of the most popular&nbsp;flowers&nbsp;in the&nbsp;horticulture&nbsp;trade tasteful nectar, they can even have freckles and they are prized for their&nbsp;showy, often fragrant flowers, and ease of cultivation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Botany has never been my thing but there are erect perennial plants with leafy stems, scaly bulbs, usually narrow leaves, and solitary or clustered flowers that got me numb.
